terms of service
1. acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Skald Corporation ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of Vor Ritual, an AI-powered tarot journaling and interpretation application available at vorritual.com (the "Service").
By creating an account, subscribing to the Service, or otherwise using any portion of the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
2. nature of the service — entertainment and software
2.1 software and journaling application
Vor Ritual is a software application providing AI-assisted tarot card journaling, interpretation generation, and personal reflection tools. The Service is designed and offered as entertainment and personal journaling software only.
2.2 not a professional advisory service
The Service does not provide and is not a substitute for professional advice of any kind. Vor Ritual is not a spiritual counseling service, religious guidance service, or professional divination service. It is not a mental health service, therapy service, or psychological counseling service. It is not a life coaching service, financial advisory service, or legal advisory service.
The AI-generated interpretations produced by the Service are software outputs generated for personal reflection and journaling purposes. They are not predictions, prophecies, or professional recommendations. The tarot card system is used within the Service as a structured framework for reflection and journaling prompts.
2.3 no reliance
You acknowledge that you use the Service for personal entertainment and self-reflection purposes only, and that you do not and will not rely on any output of the Service as a basis for personal, financial, medical, legal, or any other consequential decision. Any such reliance is at your sole risk.
3. eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
4. accounts
4.1 account creation
You must create an account to access the full features of the Service. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information up to date.
4.2 account security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account. We are not liable for any losses arising from unauthorized use of your account.
4.3 one account per user
You may not create multiple accounts for the same individual. Accounts are personal and non-transferable.
5. subscription and billing
5.1 subscription plans
Access to the Service's full features requires a paid subscription. Subscription tiers, pricing, and features are described on the pricing page at vorritual.com/pricing and are subject to change with notice.
5.2 merchant of record
All payments for subscriptions are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), acting as our Merchant of Record. Paddle is the seller of record for all subscription transactions. Your purchase is from Paddle; Paddle's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy apply to the payment transaction itself.
5.3 billing cycles
Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annual, depending on the plan selected) on the date you first subscribed. Billing continues automatically until you cancel.
5.4 price changes
We reserve the right to adjust subscription pricing with at least 30 days' advance notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing cycle.
5.5 free trials
If a free trial is offered, it will be described on the subscription page at the time of sign-up, including the duration and what billing begins after the trial period. You may cancel before the trial ends to avoid charges.
6. cancellation and refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to the Service through the end of your paid period. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy and by Paddle's policies as Merchant of Record.
7. acceptable use
7.1 prohibited conduct
You agree that you will not use the Service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service; circumvent or disable security features; use automated tools to access or extract data without our written permission; share account credentials or allow unauthorized access; use the Service to harass or harm any person; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service; introduce malware or malicious code; impersonate any person or entity; or use the Service to generate content that is illegal, defamatory, or obscene.
7.2 enforcement
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, without notice or liability, if we determine in our sole discretion that you have violated these Terms or that your use poses a risk to the Service, other users, or third parties.
8. intellectual property
8.1 our property
The Service, including its software, design, visual elements, brand marks, and underlying technology, is owned by Skald Corporation and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership interest in the Service.
8.2 your content
You retain ownership of personal journal entries, reflections, and other original content that you create and submit through the Service ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store and display your User Content solely as necessary to provide the Service to you.
8.3 AI-generated content
The tarot interpretations and textual outputs generated by the Service's AI features ("Generated Content") are produced by automated software processes. To the extent any intellectual property rights exist in Generated Content, Skald Corporation grants you a non-exclusive, personal, non-transferable license to use Generated Content for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit Generated Content without our express written consent.
You acknowledge that substantially similar AI-generated outputs may be produced for other users in response to similar inputs. Generated Content is not exclusive to you.
8.4 feedback
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas regarding the Service, you grant us an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use such feedback for any purpose, including improving the Service, without any obligation to compensate you.
9. disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SKALD CORPORATION EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT; WARRANTIES THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE; AND WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY CONTENT OR OUTPUT GENERATED BY THE SERVICE.
10. limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SKALD CORPORATION AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES; OR DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
IN NO EVENT WILL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) $50 USD.
11. indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Skald Corporation and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your User Content; or (d) your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.
12. governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service will first be subject to good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration administered under the American Arbitration Association's Consumer Arbitration Rules, conducted in San Antonio, Texas, USA, or remotely if the parties agree.
Class action waiver: To the fullest extent permitted by law, you waive any right to bring claims as a class action, collective action, or representative proceeding.
For EU/UK users: Nothing in this section limits your rights under applicable EU or UK consumer protection law or your right to bring a claim before a competent supervisory authority or court in your jurisdiction of residence.
13. modifications and termination
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by direct notice. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Sections 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12.
